At-Home Fertility Tests to Boost Your Chances of Conception
At-home tests are a great first step in tracking ovulation and gaining insight into your fertility – helping to naturally boost your chances of conception. At the same time, increasing fertility involves more than just understanding it through a test. That’s why we’ll walk you through a complete approach – including both tests and lifestyle changes – designed to set you on the right path, starting today.
Becoming pregnant
When it comes to something as important and beautiful as building a family, there’s one thing we sincerely recommend: don’t wait.

Take a moment to reflect on the life you want to live, and what truly matters most to you and your partner.
For the sake of Honesty
Women are often told to freeze their eggs – and while that may be the right path for some, it’s not a solution that works for everyone. We’re also told to focus on our careers first, but for many, waiting too long can make conceiving significantly more difficult.
We’re told to be body positive and not worry about weight – and yes, self-love matters deeply – but it’s also true that maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle can be key to increasing fertility. Remember that health is not always showing on the outside and fertility is more a matter of health than simply weight. That’s why we always recommend healthy choices, no matter where you’re starting from.
(And as a side note: many new mothers later feel a strong desire to increase their lifespan and stay healthy for their families. These lifestyle changes often become essential anyway.)
Start now
Here are three heartfelt recommendations for those trying to conceive – beginning today:
1. Improve your health.
Move every day – whether that’s 10,000 steps, a workout at the gym, swimming, or any other kind of physical activity that feels good to you. Just as important: reduce sugar and avoid ultra-processed foods. The simplest way is to eat real, whole foods – vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs, fish, natural yogurt (never low-fat or flavored), unprocessed meat, and plenty of water.
Also, limit or avoid alcohol, as it impacts fertility in both women and men. Speaking of which – invite your partner to join you in these changes. It improves fertility for both, and it’s much more joyful to do it together.

2. Take the tests.
Choosing to be healthy is not that easy if you are up against something that you are not aware of.
This is why we chose to partner with Hertility. You can order the Hertility Hormone and Fertility Test at a discount here. It’s currently available in UK and Ireland but you may find ways to access the test in your country or find a similar test. The Hertility test screens for up to 18 common and treatable reproductive health conditions. This may help give you crucial insights at an early stage and much faster than if you would go to separate specialists.
Alternatively, start by asking your doctor to run a simple blood test to check for thyroid imbalances – and seek out a local specialist in PCOS or endometriosis. As an alternative, endometriosis may also be detected with a convenient at-home saliva test – available here.
Thyroid imbalance, PCOS and endometriosis are among the most common and treatable causes of infertility in women.
Getting a clear diagnosis early can provide valuable clarity and direction. Did you know eg that PCOS, in many cases, can be reversed with lifestyle changes in just 12 weeks?
Once you’ve taken the steps above, purchase ovulation tests at your local pharmacy to help identify your most fertile days.

Don't underestimate practicing self-compassion when you are in this process.
3. Be loving towards yourself - and your partner.
Try to reduce stress and reconnect with your body, because it is within you that your favorite future human may one day grow. The phrase “my body is my temple” is not an exaggeration here. Consider beginning a daily meditation practice, attending yoga or mindfulness classes, swimming, or walking in nature – whatever helps you feel most grounded and relaxed.
One of our favorite starting points is the loving-kindness meditation on the Calm app. You might want to recommend it to your partner too?
Choose harmony over that performance mindset
By exploring your fertility now, you’re giving yourself the gift of time – time to understand, to adjust, and to try without putting pressure on yourself. Let your performance mindset rest for a while. And if you feel like you’ve started later than you hoped, all the more reason to meet yourself with compassion.
No matter where you are on the journey, what matters most is that you take the first step. Move forward with care, with patience, and with love. You’re not alone. And even if this moment feels uncertain, know that many have walked this path before you. Many of them are now mothers and they would – if they could – offer you their warmest understanding and support.
